BIOmega-3 Kids is a fish oil preparation designed to ensure adequate levels of essential omega 3 fatty acids in children, including those who do not like to eat fish. For a good level of omega-3 fatty acids rich in EPA and DHA, and for children who do not like fish, BIOmega-3 Kids is an excellent choice. The oil is screened to remove heavy metals, pesticides and industrial toxins, such as PCB’s. BIOmega-3 Kids also has a pleasant lemon flavour.

Each capsule of BIOMega-3 Kids contains 1000mg of fish oil (in the form of triglycerides), corresponding to an EPA content of 170mg/capsule and DHA content of 115mg/capsule. BIOMega-3 Kids is manufactured under Danish pharmaceutical control. The preparation is blister packed for maximum bio-availability.

What does BIOmega-3 Kids do?

Omega-3 PUFAs present in fish oil help maintain normal cardiovascular function and normal vision in children.

How to take BIOmega-3 Kids:

• 1-2 capsules daily.
• To maximise absorption take capsules with food.

Side-effects:

Fish oil is generally well tolerated, although gastrointestinal disturbance may occasionally occur. There are no reports of serious adverse effects from taking fish oil. Large doses of fish oil supplements may result in a significant increase in total calorie intake. Patients taking anticoagulants should exercise caution if taking supplements containing Omega-3 PUFAs, which may inhibit blood clotting. Patients with diabetes should exercise caution if taking fish oil supplements.

Cod liver oil should not be used as a source of omega-3 PUFAs, as it contains high levels of vitamin A and vitamin D, both of which can be toxic in high doses. High doses of folic acid may interfere with anti-convulsive medicines prescribed for epileptics.
